"I make these all year around for my parties they are the best Margarita, don't worry you won't even taste the beer, you can double or triple this recipe if desired, if the mixture tastes too sweet you can add in a little more water, use the limeade can to measure out all ingredients"

  1. We do something similar but instead of using 7-Up we approx 6oz of Grand Marnier or Cointreau for the “Golden Margarita”. In addition, blending with the ice works great too vs on the rocks. It’s not too strong as some presumed.

  2. Anything touted as "Best" usually isn't. I found this recipe to be mild.

  3. I made these for our 4th of July cookout, and everyone liked them pretty well. It was the first time any of us had tried a beer margarita. I used 12 oz. of 7-Up and no water. I think I'd do half and half and maybe a little less alcohol if I made them again.

  4. YUM! I have been experimenting with making my own margs, trying to steer clear of the sugary mixes. I used Fresca (0 sugars) in place of 7Up, and Margaritaville tequila with lime! I don't have to look any further, this is the best recipe ever. Would even be good with some fresh fruit mixed in.... thinking raspberries? Happy Summer and thanks for the great drink.

  5. OK I have to admit that this is the best Margarita recipe I have found. These will sneak up and get you if your not careful. It was a little sweet for some of my friends so I added another beer (Corona) and 1/2 of the lime-aid on the second pitcher. I used Fresca because it was what I had. This one is a keeper and a HUGE "Thank-You" to Kittencal for another great recipe.

Tweaks

  1. I've always called this drink Skip and Go Naked but I make it with vodka. I use sparkling water to cut the sweetness and calories with 24 oz lemon/lime sparkling water (Bubly or Canada Dry). Skip the water, the ice will dilute it perfectly You don't miss the sugar from the soda at all.

  2. These are a hit with my Bunco group, camping friends and game night friends. As other reviewers have commented, they can be a little sweet. I use club soda instead of Sprite or other sweet soda. I also add about 1/2 cup triple sec and 1/2 cup orange juice. It makes for smoother drink and my guests gave that modification thumbs up after having had both versions.

  3. The version I was taught by my deceased college friend (RIP Rob Love) was 12 oz Limeade Concentrate, 12 oz 7Up, 8 oz tequilla, and 1 12oz Corona. I've always found this version to be refreshing and tasty. It would be fun to add fresh mint or even cilantro and jalapeno.

  4. Yep. These are so good and refreshing. Not too strong and you can't taste the beer at all. I used 12 ozs of Sierra Mist instead of the 7-up and water and it was perfect. Thanks Kitz
