Ingredients You Need to Make Air Fryer Tortilla Strips

This recipe only uses three ingredients. You read that right… three! And the best part is that you probably already have them on hand. Check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact measurements.

  • Corn Tortillas: You can use yellow corn tortillas or white corn tortillas for this recipe. You can buy them at the store or make them using this recipe!
  • Olive Oil: This helps achieve that crispy texture. You can also spray them with some cooking spray instead.
  • Coarse Salt: This enhances the flavor and seasons them to perfection.

How to Make Air Fryer Tortilla Strips

I love this recipe because whenever I use the air fryer, it’s hands-off! Then I can prepare the rest of my dinner, and we can eat these hot and fresh!

  1. Cut: Slice the tortillas into thin strips both vertically and horizontally. Cut them to the desired size you would like. I like to stack them and cut them all together!
  2. Drizzle: Place them in a medium-sized bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Gently toss to coat all of the strips as best as you can. Sprinkle with coarse salt.
  3. Add to Basket: Place half of the tortilla strips into the air fryer basket and spread them out evenly into a single layer.
  4. Cook: Set the temperature of the air fryer to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Shake: After 3 minutes, give the basket a good shake to help cook the strips evenly. Return the basket back to the air fryer and continue cooking for another 3 minutes.Watch the strips closely and check for doneness. If they aren’t crispy enough, continue to cook and check every minute until they look done. They crisp up fast at this point, so make sure they don’t burn.
  6. Serve: Enjoy on top of salads or Mexican-inspired dishes!
